Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Paul Flynn (Labour), on Tuesday, 17 June 2003, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 48 members in total.
UNEXPLODED CLUSTER BOMBS
That this House is alarmed at the Government's calculation that Iraq is polluted by 2,688 unexploded cluster bomblets delivered by United Kingdom forces; regrets that the total of unexploded cluster bombs dropped by other coalition forces has yet to be calculated; believes this legacy and those of uncounted uranium-tipped weapons will continue to inflict death, injury and disease on Iraqis for decades; and calls for a reconsideration of the use of these weapons because of their unique lethal threats to civilians and in particular children.
