Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Harry Cohen (Labour), on Wednesday, 12 March 2003, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 30 members in total.

UK INTELLIGENCE AND IRAQ

That this House notes that the United Kingdom told the inspectors of the United Nations that Iraq sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa, despite having no active civil nuclear power programme that could require it; further notes that the Chief Nuclear Inspector for Iraq, Mohammed El Baradei recently reported to the United Nations that the documents which formed the basis of this claim are in fact not authentic and that we have therefore concluded that these specific allegations are unfounded; and believes that this represents another failure for UK intelligence in respect of Iraq.
