Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Jeremy Corbyn (Labour), on Thursday, 13 March 2003, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 26 members in total.
HALABJA ANNIVERSARY
That this House records the 15th anniversary of the massacre of Kurdish people at Halabja in 1988 with sadness and sends its sympathy to the survivors and the families of victims; applauds the efforts of Kurdish people to live in peace in an autonomous region of Iraq; is deeply concerned that Turkish forces using United States equipment and United States support are planning to invade from the north as part of the war drive against Iraq; and rejects invasion and war as being neither legal nor legitimate and motivated only by American military power and thirst for oil.
