Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Joan Walley (Labour), on Wednesday, 5 February 2003, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 87 members in total.

PORT VALE FOOTBALL CLUB

That this House notes with sadness that Port Vale Football Club, founded in 1876, is the latest in a lengthening list of league football clubs to be into administration; wishes the club well in coming out of administration as soon as possible; and calls on the Government, all football authorities including the Football League, Supporters' Direct Trust and all true football fans, to respect the club's heritage and the wishes of today's Vale fans and to do everything to ensure that Port Vale continues to play league football in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent.
