Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Annabelle Ewing (Scottish National Party), on Wednesday, 4 December 2002, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 103 members in total.
THALIDOMIDE TRUST
That this House recommends the removal of tax on income payments received by beneficiaries of the Thalidomide Trust; recognises that the current system is clearly a tax on compensation payments; and further notes that the tax is unjust and adversely affects the standard of living of those in receipt of the payment.
