Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Lansley (Conservative), on Tuesday, 19 October 2004, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 70 members in total.
ENDOMETRIOSIS
That this House recognises that endometriosis is a gynaecological condition which can cause infertility, extreme and constant pain and depression; recognises that endometriosis is a relatively unknown condition despite the fact that up to two million women in the UK are sufferers; congratulates the work of the All Party Group on endometriosis in helping to highlight the condition; further recognises that the cause of endometriosis is, as yet, unknown; notes that there is no cure for the condition; further notes, with concern, that the Government has presided over a decrease in funding for research into endometriosis, from ??1.8 million per year in 1998-99 to ??1.2 million in 2001-02; and calls on the Government to do more to help those who suffer from the condition.
