Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Glenda Jackson (Labour), on Monday, 1 November 2004, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 39 members in total.
CIVILIAN DEATHS IN IRAQ
That this House calls upon the Prime Minister, in concert with the United States Administration and the Iraqi interim government, to immediately institute a dedicated body to gather, collate and publish the number of Iraqi civilians killed and injured as a result of coalition forces' actions since 20th March 2003; believes that such a body should incorporate procedures employed by Iraq Bodycount and those United States and Iraqi health experts whose findings, detailing 100,000 civilian deaths, was published by the Lancet on 30th October.
