Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Roger Williams (Liberal Democrat), on Wednesday, 3 November 2004, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 11 members in total.
HYDATID DISEASE
That this House recognises the dramatic fall in human cases of hydatid disease in the Powys area and celebrates the fact that in 2003 there was not a single recorded case; praises the work of the National Public Health Service for Wales, the Powys and Ceredigion Health Promotion Unit and particularly Mr Tom Walters who have all done so much to increase public understanding of the disease cycle in humans and domestic animals; and notes the need for continued vigilance, particularly in the control of dogs, to ensure that this achievement is a permanent one.
