That this House reaffirms the solidarity of the people of Great Britain with the people of India in the common cause of peace, democracy and development; appreciates the magnitude and complexity of the problems of the sub-continent; acclaims the people of India for their steadfast commitment to the ideals on which the Republic of India is founded; expresses its confidence in the future of the world's largest democracy; and welcomes India's new and distinguished High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr L M Singhvi; and looks forward to working with him.
