Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Mark Hendrick (Labour and Co-operative Party), on Thursday, 22 July 2004, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 38 members in total.
DANUBE DELTA
That this House notes the plan by the Ukranian Government to build a new canal in the Danube delta in an area designated by UNESCO; is concerned that such work will cause enormous environmental damage to several countries through which the Danube passes; and urges the UK Government to make urgent representations to the Government of Ukraine that such work should cease at least until there has been a proper assessment of the environmental impact of the canal.
