Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor George Osborne (Conservative), on Monday, 24 May 2004, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 29 members in total.

BBC RESTORATION PROGRAMME AND THE LION SALT WORKS IN CHESHIRE

That this House notes that the Lion Salt Works at Marston in Cheshire is the only candidate from the North West of England in the BBC's new Restoration programme; is impressed by the proposal from its charitable trust to restore what was the last open pan salt works in Britain and turn it into a working industrial museum; congratulates the trustees and volunteers who have worked so hard to put together the proposal and preserve a manufacturing process that has gone on in Britain since Roman times; and urges viewers across the country to vote for the Lion Salt Works to be this year's winner of Restoration so that it can be a living reminder to future generations of the industrial heritage of the whole United Kingdom.
