Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Mike Gapes (Labour and Co-operative Party), on Thursday, 29 April 2004, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 9 members in total.
PLANNING APPEALS AND ILFORD
That this House deplores the decision of the Planning Inspectorate and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister to uphold the appeal by the developers to permit housing development on the former BAe site at Vicarage Lane, Ilford; condemns the contemptible way in which the decision has been forced through against the wishes of the local people, local community organisations, local councillors and the local honourable Member, who all favoured the alternative scheme for a community centre proposed by the City Gates church; expresses its concern that no provision is made for additional primary school places at already oversubscribed local schools; and believes that this decision will only add to the existing pressures on local services in Ilford South.
