REFRESHMENT DEPARTMENT AND FAIR TRADE FORTNIGHT

That this House welcomes and fully supports the House of Commons Refreshment Department in actively supporting the Fair Trade Fortnight which is being held from Monday 1st March to Sunday 14th March by promoting Fair Trade mark products under their banner A Taste For Life; notes that the Refreshment Department will also be selling other fairly traded goods, including dried fruits, cookies, pasta, oranges, bananas, grapes and ethically traded wines from the Fair Valley Worker Association in South Africa, whose branding, The Hands That Work The Soil Feed The Soul, encapsulates the essence of the project; believes that these products will prove popular with our customers; and congratulates the 10 cities who are obtaining Fair Trade City status in this Fair Trade Fortnight 2004.
