SUCCESS OF MIDDLESBROUGH FOOTBALL CLUB
That this House expresses its pleasure in the success of Middlesbrough Football Club in the Carling League Cup Final played against Bolton Wanderers; notes that this is the first ever cup victory for Middlesbrough FC in its 128 year history; commends the team, and congratulates its manager, Steve McLaren, and the Club Board and its Chairman, Mr Steve Gibson; expresses commiserations to Bolton Wanderers, their manager and their supporters; considers that this game was played in the highest traditions of footballing sportsmanship; and sees this win as the precursor of future success for Middlesbrough both at home and in Europe.
