Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Keith Vaz (Labour), on Wednesday, 21 January 2004, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 4 members in total.

NAME CHANGE FOR EAST MIDLANDS AIRPORT

That this House deplores the decision of East Midlands Airport to rename the airport Nottingham East Midlands Airport; believes that the current name represents the people of the region effectively and enhances the image of all towns and cities in the region including Leicester and Derby; believes that changing the name is a grave error and would be a backward step on the hitherto successful campaign to give the East Midlands a political and economic identity; and calls on East Midlands Airport to reconsider this decision.
