Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Graham Stringer (Labour), on Tuesday, 9 December 2003, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 26 members in total.
B.B.C. REPORTING OF EUROPEAN ELECTIONS
That this House notes that Global Britain's survey The Reporting of The Elections to The European Parliament on UK Terrestrial TV News Programmes and BBC Radio 4 9th May 1999 to 12th June 1999 found the BBC culpable of providing a low level of coverage bias and a failure to get to grips with or elucidate some of the key issues facing voters at a crucial phase in the development of the European Union; and therefore calls on the BBC to make an early public statement on how it will fulfil its public service broadcasting obligations and remove its bias on European Union matters, with particular respect to elections to the European Parliament in 2004.
