Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Stratford (Labour), on Wednesday, 17 December 2003, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 19 members in total.
WAR TOYS AT CHRISTMAS
That this House expresses its dismay at the wide range of toys and computer games which are based on lethal weapons and violent imagery; believes that, in part, the growth of violence in our society has its roots in the brutalising of our children from an early age by war toys and games; calls upon Her Majesty's Government to set up an inquiry to investigate what links exist between war toys, games and violent behaviour; and reminds parents that the season of peace and goodwill is ill-served by the giving of war toys to children.
