Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Glenda Jackson (Labour), on Wednesday, 26 January 2005, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 24 members in total.

GIFTING OF MILITARY EQUIPMENT TO THE IRAQI INTERIM GOVERNMENT (NO. 2)

That this House, while welcoming the gifting of equipment for security monitoring purposes to the Iraqi Interim Government, as detailed in the Ministry of Defence minute dated 25th January, deplores the inclusion in this gift of 774 medium machine guns (PKMs) and five million rounds of ammunition; and calls upon the Government to withdraw such military hardware, which will do nothing to reduce violence and intimidation in a country awash with such weapons.
