Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor John McDonnell (Labour), on Tuesday, 8 February 2005, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 39 members in total.
JOB CUTS AT THE TELEGRAPH NEWSPAPER GROUP
That this House deplores the actions of the Telegraph newspaper group in announcing, without consultation with staff or trade unions, up to 300 job cuts, including 90 journalists on the Daily and Sunday Telegraph, despite these papers being in sizeable profit and contrary to recent assurances to staff concerning their job security.
