AFC TELFORD UNITED
That this House congratulates AFC Telford United for having smashed the Unibond League First Division attendance record with a crowd of 3,740 for its 1-0 victory against Ilkeston Town on 5th February; notes that only nine months ago the club faced bankruptcy and closure; expresses its appreciation to the club's chairman and directors, to its sponsors Capgemini, to Telford and Wrekin Council and a wide range of local organisations and businesses which are actively supporting it, to the manager and players and to the fans who together are building a bright new future for the club; and commends AFC Telford United as a club owned by its supporters and with deep roots in its community and for setting an example as the antidote to the greed and selfishness of the modern game.
