Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Alex Salmond (Scottish National Party), on Wednesday, 8 December 2004, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 45 members in total.

CIVILIAN CASUALTIES IN IRAQ

That this House supports calls for an independent inquiry into the number of civilian casualties in Iraq since the invasion of that country in 2003; and believes that an accurate and honest assessment of the human cost of the conflict would show a commitment to the principle of openness on the part of the UK and would demonstrate to the world and the people of Iraq one of the central strengths of the democratic system of government.
