Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Eddie McGrady (Social Democratic & Labour Party), on Monday, 20 December 2004, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 80 members in total.

WORKING TAX CREDIT OVERPAYMENTS

That this House notes with great concern the large number of low income families in receipt of working tax credit who have been advised that they have been overpaid by the Inland Revenue; notes the financial strain that re-payment is causing these families, who are already under financial stress; and calls on the Minister responsible to take immediate action to resolve this serious situation.
