Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Andrew Rosindell (Conservative), on Wednesday, 23 February 2005, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 31 members in total.
POSTMAN ANDREW JAMIESON AND HIS DOG OSCAR
That this House notes with concern that the Royal Mail has banned Postman Andrew Jamieson from taking his dog Oscar with him on his rounds after a single complaint; further notes that Oscar is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, one of the most loyal and friendly breeds of dog; recognises that both Mr Jamieson and Oscar are marvellous ambassadors for the Royal Mail; and urges the Royal Mail to take note of the 500 strong petition signed by residents of Tynemouth to allow Oscar to continue to accompany Mr Jamieson and reverse this unwarranted decision.
