NO SMOKING DAY 9th MARCH 2005

That this House congratulates No Smoking Day, the charity organising the event of the same name, which is taking place on 9th March, aimed at encouraging smokers to give up; notes that three-quarters of all smokers in the country wish to give up and that on previous No Smoking Days almost a million have tried to; recognises that the incidence of lung cancer and other diseases are highly affected by the prevalence of smoking; and believes that No Smoking Day should be commended wholeheartedly for promoting better health.
