Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Bruce of Bennachie (Liberal Democrat), on Tuesday, 8 March 2005, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 28 members in total.

WINDFALL TAXES

That this House expresses its opposition to windfall taxes which would damage business confidence, cost jobs and investment by retrospectively altering adversely the terms of trade, undermine the recovery of company and private pension funds by reducing dividend payments and halting the recent upward trend in the UK stock market which could be sharply reversed by the introduction of such feckless taxes.
