Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Paul Marsden (Liberal Democrat), on Wednesday, 9 March 2005, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 17 members in total.
VISITOR STICKERS AND THE ENVIRONMENT
That this House accepts the importance of all visitors to the Palace of Westminster being clearly identifiable to police officers and Serjeant-at-Arms staff; notes the system of issuing coloured stickers to visitors after passing through security checks, but is concerned at the growing number of discarded stickers stuck to walls, floors and pavements in and around the Palace; and urges that all stickers be made of bio-degradable material and that steps be taken to ensure visitors have to remove and return their stickers before leaving the Palace precincts in the interests of security and reducing litter.
