Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Bob Cryer (Labour), on Tuesday, 14 May 1991, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 65 members in total.
CONTROL OF DOGS
That this House expresses deep concern at the continuing attacks by potentially vicious dogs such as pit bull terriers, rottweilers, dobermanns, and alsatians on old adults and children, often with horrifying results; and calls upon the Secretary of State for the Environment to implement section 37 of the Local Government Act 1988 to make provision for a dog registration scheme so that ownership of dogs can be recorded and owners encouraged to take proper care and control of dogs.
