Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Christopher Fraser (Conservative), on Tuesday, 2 May 2006, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 33 members in total.

HOSEPIPE BANS

That this House notes with concern the impact of hosepipe bans on garden industry sales worth millions of pounds and the subsequent damage to the environment through the loss of soft landscaping; and calls for an amendment of the Water Industry Act 1991, which allows hosepipes to be used for non-horticultural uses such as filling swimming pools, but not for keeping plants alive.
