Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor David Marshall (Labour), on Tuesday, 13 June 2006, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 17 members in total.

ST. ANDREW'S SECONDARY SCHOOL, CARNTYNE, GLASGOW

That this House congratulates the pupils, teachers, staff, and especially the Head Teacher, Bruce Malone, of St. Andrew's Secondary School, Carntyne, in Glasgow East constituency, on being awarded five `excellents' by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Education; notes that this is more than any other mainstream secondary school in the state or private sector since these ratings were introduced last summer; further notes that the school's catchment areas include Cranhill, Easterhouse, Ruchazie and Shettleston; acknowledges that background need not hinder what pupils and schools can achieve; and further notes that this five star report is yet another example of the on-going renaissance of the East End of Glasgow.
