Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Iris Robinson (Democratic Unionist Party), on Tuesday, 4 July 2006, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 21 members in total.
PHYSIOTHERAPISTS IN NORTHERN IRELAND
That this House congratulates the physiotherapy graduates from the year 2006 who volunteered their services at the recent Special Olympics Ireland Games; notes that despite increased demand for physiotherapy services few graduates will secure a junior physiotherapist post because of financial cuts; recognises that this is a waste of the four years and ??28,500 it has cost to train each graduate; and calls on the Department of Health in Northern Ireland to bring to an end such a waste of money and explore means of ensuring that planned junior physiotherapy posts are made available again.
