FALKLAND ISLANDS

That this House notes the comments made by the Veterans Minister announcing plans to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the liberation of the Falklands Islands next year; welcomes this commitment to honour those who served in the armed forces to free the Falkland Islands; remembers the central role played by Baroness Thatcher in ensuring the Union Flag still flies over Port Stanley; and urges the Government to work closely with the Opposition to ensure that the commemoration next year will be truly worthy of veterans.
