CHRISTIAN CONCERNS ABOUT THE SEXUAL ORIENTATION REGULATIONS
That this House recognises the genuine concerns expressed by Christian churches and other religious organisations about certain aspects of the proposed Sexual Orientation Regulations; notes that the Government has delayed the implementation of the Regulations in Great Britain until April 2007; regrets the decision of the Northern Ireland Office to proceed with the introduction of the Regulations in Northern Ireland from 1st January 2007; and calls on the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland to withdraw the Regulations to allow a similar time for further consulation as in the rest of the United Kingdom.
