Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Keith Vaz (Labour), on Wednesday, 6 February 1991, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 180 members in total.
MR JOHN HALL AND COMPENSATION FOR NUCLEAR TEST VETERANS
That this House welcomes the statement made by the Prime Minister on 4th December 1990 in the House that he would examine the case of Mr John Hall of Belgrove, Leicester, a nuclear test veteran who is dying of leukaemia, an illness he contracted while working on Christmas Island, notes that the Prime Minister has subsequently refused to take any action in this matter; acknowledges that John Hall's case is a test case for other veterans; and calls on the Prime Minister, without further delay, in the interests of compassion, humanity and justice to provide John Hall and the other nuclear test veterans with the compensation that the House and the country believe that they so richly deserve.
