Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Greg Hands (Conservative), on Thursday, 14 June 2007, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 8 members in total.
WEST LONDON TRAM
That this House urges Transport for London to abandon its plans for the West London Tram linking the boroughs of Hillingdon, Ealing and Hammersmith and Fulham; regards the estimated cost of ??648 million as too high and not representing value for money; worries at the effects of the 45 metre long vehicles on other road users and its likely effect on rat-running and displaced traffic; regrets the likely devastation to the unusually mixed and diverse retail offer on many parts of the Uxbridge Road; and urges a re-think before costs escalate further.
