COUNCILLOR SUSAN BAIRD
That this House recognises the 33 years of public service given to the people of Glasgow by Councillor Susan Baird CBE, JP, D. Univ, OSJ, DL, who represented the Parkhead and Braidfauld wards on Glasgow District Council and Glasgow City Council from 1974 until 2007; notes that she was a distinguished Lord Provost of the city from 1988 to 1992, hosted the Glasgow Garden Festival in 1988 and the European City of Culture in 1990 and in 1992 was awarded the St. Mungo Award for services to the city; and wishes her a long, happy and healthy retirement.
