Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Andrew Love (Labour and Co-operative Party), on Tuesday, 10 July 2007, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 112 members in total.
MENCAP'S DON'T STICK IT STOP IT CAMPAIGN
That this House welcomes Mencap's new campaign Don't Stick it, Stop it!, which highlights the bullying experienced by children with a learning disability and the devastating effect this has on their lives; is shocked that Mencap's survey of 507 children with a learning disability showed that 8 out of 10 have been bullied, and that for 4 out of 10 the bullying has not stopped even after they have told someone about it; supports Mencap in its efforts to raise awareness of this problem; and calls upon the Government to take urgent action to tackle disablist bullying.
