ROYAL AIR FORCE 90th ANNIVERSARY
That this House salutes the Royal Air Force (RAF) on the 90th anniversary of its formation; pays tribute to the RAF for its service to the defence of the United Kingdom and its worldwide interests; acknowledges that air power continues to play a vital role in all military conflicts in which British forces are deployed, including gaining and maintaining air superiority, precision strikes and combat air support of ground and maritime forces, intelligence, strategic and tactical mobility, command and control and force protection of critical airfields; recalls the contribution the RAF makes in operations other than war, including humanitarian operations, evacuation operations and support to the civil community; and thanks the men and women of today's RAF for the enormous contribution they are making in Iraq and Afghanistan and across the globe.
