Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Islwyn, on Thursday, 27 February 1992, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 47 members in total.
SEVERN BRIDGE TOLL INCREASE
That this House is appalled by the decision to increase tolls on the Severn Bridge from 26th April to ??2.80 for a motor car, ??5.60 for a minibus and ??8.40 for a lorry, with collection for westward bound traffic only; is mindful of the damage this decision will have on employment and investment prospects and on the Welsh tourist trade; and realises these increases are a direct consequence of the Government's decision to hand over this vital crossing to a French-backed consortium.
