PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN EAST LANCASHIRE
That this House recognises the need for improved public transport in East Lancashire and the benefits that it can bring to both people and the environment; further recognises the concerns of residents in Clayton Le Moors and Oswaldtwistle about the possible impact of the Pennine Reach Rapid Transit Scheme on their neighbourhoods, and welcomes the dialogue between local councillors and citizens over how best to deal with this; further recognises that Accrington needs a new bus station which will improve safety, encourage bus use and help the town's economy; welcomes Lancashire County Council's leadership on this scheme; and calls on Hyndburn Borough Council to work closely with the county council to achieve an improved pubic transport system in Hyndburn and East Lancashire.
