Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor David Shaw (Conservative), on Wednesday, 4 March 1992, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 33 members in total.
RABIES PROTECTION IN THE BRITISH ISLES
That this House notes the remarkable success of the quarantine laws in keeping rabies out of Britain; expresses its grave concern over suggestions that the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, under pressure from the European Commission, may be required to relax the regulations; and trusts that the Ministry will take a robust stance in defending the British Isles from rabies, which is still prevalent on the mainland of Europe.
