Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Paul Rowen (Liberal Democrat), on Tuesday, 5 May 2009, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 13 members in total.
SALE OF ROSSENDALE TRANSPORT BUSES
That this House has grave concerns about the sale of Rossendale Transport Buses to a national bus company; notes that such a sale is likely to lead to local bus services throughout Lancashire being cut or cancelled completely; further notes that such cuts or cancellations would leave disabled, elderly and vulnerable individuals cut off from Rochdale town centre's amenities; fears that this may in turn negatively affect the already suffering local businesses; agrees with the aims of the Save Our Bus campaign; and calls on Rossendale Transport Buses to halt this sale.
