Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Paul Rowen (Liberal Democrat), on Monday, 19 October 2009, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 36 members in total.
INTERNET ONLY ENGLAND FOOTBALL MATCH
That this House regrets that the England FIFA World Cup qualifier match played on 10 October 2009 was only available to view online; notes that all previously broadcast England matches have been available on television; further notes that many people in Britain do not have access to the internet; welcomes the use of technology in sport; and concludes that until universal internet is achieved, England matches should be shown on television to enable all fans to watch them and for public houses to screen them.
