Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lindsay Hoyle (Labour), on Monday, 26 October 2009, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 28 members in total.
TYPE APPROVAL OF REPLACEMENT EXHAUST SYSTEMS
That this House notes that the UK has failed to sign EU Directive 92/97/EEC which ensures that type approval of replacement exhaust systems are produced and sold as separate technical units; believes that as a consequence of non-type approved replacement products being installed on motor vehicles UK businesses are being placed at a disadvantage and that economic, environmental and public health damage has resulted; and urges the Government to sign EU Directive 92/97/EEC to ensure that a level playing field operates across Europe, and that all replacement exhaust systems are type approved.
