Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Graham Allen (Labour), on Monday, 9 November 2009, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 54 members in total.
INDEPENDENT PARLIAMENTARY STANDARDS AUTHORITY AND HON. MEMBERS' PAY
That this House notes the appointment of Sir Ian Kennedy as Chair of the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) and hopes he carries out his duties in line with natural justice, including adherence to the concepts of reasonableness and proportionality, and without retrospectivity; and further hopes that the IPSA tackles the heart of recent problems by ensuring that pay rates for hon. Members are set independently and beyond the interference of Government or Parliament.
