That this House has concerns about the impact of the Digital Economy Bill on small businesses that allow customers wifi access; agrees with the Federation of Small Businesses that it is unfair that the owners of such businesses would be penalised for a customer conducting illegal online activity; recognises that this is inconsistent with the vast majority of legislation; is concerned about the impact this would have on those businesses which provide wifi access to their customers; and calls on the Government to ensure a practical route exists for small businesses that wish to provide wifi access for their customers without penalty.
