DEPOSITING OF PAPERS WITH THE EUROPEAN SCRUTINY COMMITTEE
That this House is concerned at the delay by the Government in depositing relevant papers with the European Scrutiny Committee; believes that following the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty, the role of this House in national democracy and scrutiny is paramount; and calls on the next Government to ensure that a memorandum on each EU proposal is placed before this House no later than 10 working days after publication of the relevant proposal.
