Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Stephen Gilbert (Liberal Democrat), on Wednesday, 16 June 2010, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 18 members in total.

FUNDING FOR CORNISH SERVICES

That this House notes with concern that Cornwall's public services have suffered from decades of under-funding from consecutive governments; further notes that Cornwall is one of the poorest parts of the European Union; recognises that tough choices need to be made to tackle the budget deficit; welcomes the Western Morning News, A Fair Cut campaign, which makes the case that under-funded areas like Cornwall should not suffer disproportionate levels of cuts; and calls on the Government to set up an independent funding commission similar to the Holtham Commission in Wales to examine the level of under-funding of Cornish services.
