Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Margaret Ewing (Scottish National Party), on Tuesday, 4 February 1992, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 5 members in total.

COMPETENCE OF SCOTTISH MINISTERS

That this House welcomes the Daily Telegraph's recognition on 3rd February that 'Scotland has been governed by a team of ministers whom the world - including every Scot - knows would not qualify for jobs as bottle washers', a fact Scots have been only too well aware of during the last 13 years; looks forward to the imminent demise of the remaining rump of Scottish Tories at the coming general election; and welcomes the fact that the growing support of the Scottish people for independence will ensure that Tory misrule is replaced with economic and social prosperity.

COMPETENCE OF SCOTTISH MINISTERS (612A1)
The Early day motion has received an amendment sponsored by Bill Walker (primary, Conservative) and tabled on Wednesday, 5 February 1992. It has been signed by 2 members in total.
leave out from 'ministers' to end and add 'which has included the Right Honourable Member for Ayr, Edinburgh, Pentlands and Galloway, men of great ability and integrity who have led teams of talented ministers which have created a relatively prosperous Scotland; and notes this is a Scotland which has weathered the world recession better than Canada, Australia and New Zealand, whose substantial export of manufactures and services would be destroyed by a separatist socialist, West Central Scotland-dominated independent Scottish Government and where the loss of United Kingdom defence bases at Leuchars, Lossiemouth, Kinross, Arbroath, Rosyth, Faslane, Coulport, Prestwick, Edzell, Turnhouse, Almondbank, and in defence-related industry, would create unemployment on a massive scale throughout Scotland'.
