Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor John Robertson (Labour), on Wednesday, 21 July 2010, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 20 members in total.
SPORTING LISTED EVENTS AND THE ASHES
That this House opposes the decision not to include the Ashes in the A-list of free-to-air television; calls on the Government to reverse its decision and instead accept the recommendations of the David Davies Review; further opposes measures which deprives UK audiences from being able to share in the triumphs and tribulations of the national team; and calls on the Government to guarantee the future of cricket by enabling the biggest audience and not the smallest.
