Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor David Anderson (Labour), on Thursday, 22 July 2010, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 20 members in total.
LABOUR LAW IN IRAQ (No. 3)
That this House strongly condemns the draconian ministerial decree of 20 July 2010 ordering the immediate closure of all offices of the Electricity Workers Union in Iraq and the prohibition of all trade union activities at the Electricity ministry, its departments and sites as well as all official interaction and communication with the trade unions; urges the withdrawal of this decree; and believes that this illustrates the urgent need for a fair labour law in Iraq.
